about Me
my Story
Hi, I’m Theodoros Matsoulias — a finance professional with a Master’s degree in Finance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Democritus University of Thrace. I’ve always been curious about finance and economics, and how thoughtful analysis can shape better decisions in business and beyond.
I’m currently working as an Associate at OB-Streem, a logistics company backed by H.I.G. Capital, with operations across Greece and Southeast Europe. I’m part of the Strategy, Transformation & Investments Office — which basically means I get to wear a lot of hats: tracking how the business is performing, making sense of financial data, and diving into investments, M&A, and post merger integration tasks.
In the past, I’ve worked on a variety of finance-related roles across banking and corporate finance. Some highlights include roles at Deloitte (Strategy & Transactions Advisory), where I focused on valuations and capital raising for energy projects, and at the European Investment Bank Operations Directorate, where I supported debt financing for energy and infrastructure projects in Greece. I’ve also gained intership experiences at the National Bank of Greece, the Greek Embassy in Belgium at the Commercial and Economics Affairs Office, and as a teaching assistant for the Asset Pricing course at VU Amsterdam Master of Finance.
While I’m not a developer, I really enjoy building tools that make financial analysis more effective and accessible. I’ve developed several personal and professional projects using Python and Excel — from valuation models to dashboards — and I’ll be sharing some of them here.
This site is also a space where I’ll post thoughts and analysis on the economy, financial markets, and investing — which is both a professional interest and a personal passion of mine.
Outside of finance, I’ve always been drawn to the arts and culture. I’ve performed in amateur theater, hosted student radio shows, and I play bass guitar when I get the chance. I also love exploring history, traveling, and getting lost in a good podcast or a great conversation.
Thanks for stopping by — feel free to explore, connect, or just have a look around.
